About Us
Meet the artist
Hi there! My name is Amanda Hausmann, and I am an artist and an art therapist living in Tallahassee, Florida with my husband and son and our three cats. I studied Studio Art at Florida State University and went on to pursue my Master of Art Therapy at FSU. Even before studying art I became fascinated by nature and anatomy, the similarities between the human body and the world around us. Now, the forest constantly sparks my imagination, leading me to visualize branches as veins in a hand, roots growing within lungs, mushrooms sprouting from a spine. This led to the creation of ivy & bone, and eventually my discovery of pyrography - a unique and challenging medium that holds my illustrations within a slice of one of the very things that inspires my art - a tree. I also enjoy studies of flowers, fish, plants, and creating special pieces such as home portraits. I am open to special commissions and collaborations - please email me with inquiries!
